Course Overview
The BA (Hons) Multimedia Design at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur equips students with the knowledge and industry-relevant skills to excel in the dynamic field of multimedia design. Covering multiple forms of media, the curriculum includes visualising and creating content, brand messages, and imagery through animation. Graduates are prepared for roles in advertising agencies, multimedia labs, design studios, corporate art departments, television network stations, and animation houses.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Courses include Art History, Life Drawing, Graphic and Image Editing, Modelling, Visual Communication, Typography 1, Basic Photography, Traditional Animation, and Introduction to Multimedia.
- Year 2: Courses include Design and Layout, Web Design, Digital Visual Presentation, Animation, Multimedia Design 1, Post Production, Typography 2, Proposal Writing, Design for Motion Graphics, and Practical Training.
- Year 3: Courses include Compositing & Visual Effects, Research Project, Multimedia Design 2, Multimedia Project 1, Multimedia Project 2, and Industry Placement.
Entry Requirements
- STPM: Minimum Grade C in two subjects (GP 2.00).
- A-Level: Minimum Grade D in two subjects.
- UEC: Minimum five credits.
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum score of 26/42 credits from six subjects.
- National Matriculation: Minimum CGPA of 2.0.
- UCSI Foundation: Minimum CGPA of 2.0.
- Diploma: Minimum CGPA of 2.0.
- Portfolio Assessment: Minimum six pieces of artwork are required for review.
- English Language Requirements: For local students: MUET Band 3, SPM English Language Grade B+, or equivalent. For international students: MUET Band 3.0, IELTS 5.5, TOEFL IBT 46, or equivalent.
