The Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) equips students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in civil engineering, preparing graduates for roles such as Project Engineer, Construction Engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Highway and Transport Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, Site Engineer, Design Engineer, and Structural Engineer.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Introduction to Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, and Engineering Mathematics.
- Year 2: Intermediate topics such as Civil Engineering Laboratory, Hydraulics, Geotechnics, Highway Engineering, and Water Treatment.
- Year 3: Advanced subjects including Construction Technology, Theory of Structures, Reinforced Concrete Design, and Integrated Design Projects.
- Year 4: Specialization through electives, Final Year Project, and courses like Construction & Project Management and Structural Analysis.
Entry Requirements
- Malaysian Students: STPM with Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Paper and two other subjects; Matriculation/Asasi with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; Diploma in Civil Engineering from UTM or equivalent with a minimum CPA of 2.70.
- International Students: Equivalent qualifications to the above, subject to UTM's admission policies.
- All applicants must pass the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
