The Diploma in 3D Animation at the University of Cyberjaya (UoC) is a comprehensive 2.5-year programme that equips students with essential skills in character modeling, lighting, and rigging, preparing graduates for dynamic roles such as 3D Animator, Character Designer, and Visual Effects (VFX) Artist.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Courses include Visual Art and Design History, Computer Graphics, Creative and Idea Generation, Basic Drawing, Design Fundamentals, Digital Illustration, 3D Structure and Texturing, Typography Studies, Storyboard for Animation, Digital Imaging, and Introduction to 3D Animation.
- Year 2: Courses include 3D Character Modeling, Compositing and Video Editing, 3D Lighting and Rendering Techniques, 3D Rigging Techniques, 3D Character Animation 1 and 2, Animation Production Timeline, Asset Development, 3D Design and Texturing, Sound Design, and an elective.
- Year 3: Focuses on E-Portfolio development, Final Year Project, and Industrial Training.
Entry Requirements
- SPM/O-Level: Minimum of 3 credits or equivalent.
- STPM: Pass with at least Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject or equivalent.
- STAM: Pass with at least Grade Maqbul.
- A-Level: Pass with at least Grade D in any subject.
- UEC: Minimum Grade B in 3 subjects.
- SKM/SVM: Level 3, subject to university screening.
- Certificate: Level 3 (MQF) in a relevant field with at least a CGPA of 2.00.
- Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government, acceptable to the university.
- Pass an interview or submit a portfolio, as determined by the university.
- International students: Minimum score of High Band 2 in MUET or equivalent to CEFR Mid B1.
