Course Overview
The Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) at the University of Cyberjaya (UoC) is a comprehensive four-year program designed to equip students with critical thinking and decision-making skills essential for professional nursing practice. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles such as Registered Nurse, Nursing Administrator, Nurse Educator, and Clinical Instructor, addressing the evolving healthcare needs of individuals, families, and communities.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational courses including Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry I & II, Microbiology, Parasitology & Immunology, Fundamental of Nursing I & II, Communication in Nursing, Pharmacology in Nursing, Principles of Nutrition, and Clinical Practice I & II.
- Year 2: Intermediate topics such as Psychology & Sociology, Introduction to Medical-Surgical Nursing, Cardiovascular & Respiratory Nursing, Gastrointestinal Nursing, Autoimmune Disorders & Neurological Nursing, Health Promotion & Health Education, Endocrine and Hemopoietic Nursing, Musculoskeletal and Genitourinary Nursing, and Clinical Practice III & IV.
- Year 3: Advanced subjects including Personal & Professional Development & Counselling, Obstetric & Gynaecology Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Special Senses (Eye, ENT, Skin & Communicable Diseases), Research Methodology, Biostatistics & Epidemiology, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Clinical Practice V & VI.
- Year 4: Specialization and practical experience through Research Project I & II, Ethics & Medico-Legal in Nursing, Critical Care & Emergency Nursing, Gerontology Nursing, Management & Administrative Nursing Practice, Elective courses (Oncology/Complementary & Alternative Medicine Nursing), and Clinical Practice VII & VIII (Management Practicum).
Entry Requirements
- Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.5; OR
- Pass 'A' Level with a minimum Grade C in three (3) subjects; OR
- Pass Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.5; OR
- Pass any Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (no credit transfer) equivalent to MQF Level 4; OR
- Pass Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution by the Malaysian Nursing Board with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical working experience (credit transfer allowed).
- For international students: IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 or TOEFL with a minimum score of 515/215/80.
