Course Overview
The Bachelor of Aviation Management (Hons.) at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (MIAT) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry, encompassing airport management, airline management, logistics management, and general management. Graduates are well-prepared for diverse roles within the aviation sector, including positions in airlines, airport authorities, ground handling services, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations, and air transport consultancies.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Introduction to air transport and aviation industry, principles of management, logistics, economics, accounting and finance, and foundational English and Mandarin language courses.
- Year 2: Air transport policy, aviation economics, human factors in aviation, aviation regulations, human resource management, aviation finance, and aviation marketing.
- Year 3: Air freight logistics, airline engineering management, project management, strategic management, air transport management, and industrial training.
- Year 4: Airport planning and design, warehouse management, quality management, airport management, aircraft maintenance management, and final year projects.
Entry Requirements
- Pass STPM or its equivalent with at least Grade C (GP2.0) in any 2 subjects, and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level, or any equivalent qualification.
- Pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level.
- Any qualifications equivalent to Diploma or Advanced Diploma with CGPA 2.00.
- Matriculation/Foundation qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, or any equivalent qualification.
- Pass A Level with minimum Grade D in TWO (2) subjects and a pass in Mathematics and English at O level, or any equivalent qualification.
- Pass in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least 24 points.
- Pass Higher National Diploma (HND) UK (MQF Level 4) in related area and recognized by the government of Malaysia and according to approval by UniKL Senate.
- Qualification of 12 years of schooling with the following conditions:
- It is the highest school qualification in the country of origin.
- It can be used as entry qualification for bachelor's degree programme in the country of origin.
- Pass Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)/Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subject to the approval of the Senate/Academic Board of the relevant institution; OR Pass the DKM/DLKM/DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 AND have at least two (2) years of work experience in the related field.
