Course Overview
The Bachelor in Forensic Science (Hons) at Management and Science University (MSU) equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the collection, examination, and analysis of physical evidence in criminal investigations. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Forensic Scientist, Crime Scene Investigator, Private Investigator, Chemist, and Criminologist.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Cell Biology and Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Microbiology, Biostatistics
- Year 2: Introduction to Forensic Science and Physical Evidence, Firearms and Ballistics, Food Chemistry, Chemistry of Explosion
- Year 3: Forensic Entomology, Forensic Toxicology, Forensic DNA Profiling
- Year 4: Polymer Chemistry, Industrial Training
Entry Requirements
- At least 2.50 CGPA in STPM or A-levels with a Credit in Chemistry and Biology or Physics, and at least five (5) Credits in SPM or equivalent, including three (3) from Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English
- Related Diploma with at least 2.75 CGPA (CGPAs below 2.75 need to be supported by at least 3 years of related field experience)
- MSU Foundation Certificate with at least 2.50 CGPA in Chemistry and Biology or Physics
- International qualifications deemed equivalent will be subject to MSU Senate approval
- International students need to score at least 6.0 in the IELTS test or 550 in the TOEFL test
