The Bachelor in Digital Film Technology (Honours) at Lincoln University College provides students with a comprehensive understanding of digital filmmaking, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills in cinematography, editing, sound design, visual effects, and screenwriting. Graduates are prepared for roles such as film director, cinematographer, film producer, film editor, screenwriter, production designer, sound designer, visual effects artist, and storyboard artist.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Introduction to filmmaking, film history and theory, fundamentals of storytelling, digital cinematography, and acting for film and television.
- Year 2: Advanced courses in cinematography, editing techniques, sound design, scriptwriting, and documentary filmmaking.
- Year 3: Specialized topics including advanced directing techniques, color grading, digital workflow, virtual reality technology, and capstone projects.
Entry Requirements
- A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with at least Grade C (GP2.00) in any two subjects.
- A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least grade Jayyid.
- Matriculation or Foundation with at least CGPA of 2.00.
- A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00.
- An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00.
- A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to LUC Senate Approval.
- A Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) subjected to LUC Senate Approval.
- Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
- Pass an interview (online/virtual/conventional) or submission of student’s portfolio, as required by Lincoln University College.
- For international students: Achieve a minimum score of Band 3 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or equivalent to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Low B1.
