Course Overview
The Diploma in Landscape Architecture at Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) provides students with a comprehensive foundation in planning, designing, managing, and implementing landscape projects in both man-made and natural outdoor environments. Graduates are equipped with practical skills and creativity, preparing them for roles such as Assistant Landscape Architect, Technical Landscape Assistant, Site Supervisor, and CAD Draughtsperson.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Courses include Basic Landscape Design I & II, Technical Drawing I & II, Plant Material I, Graphic Communication, Introduction to Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction I & II, and Technical English I.
- Year 2: Focuses on Landscape Design I, II & III, CAD I, Computer Graphics, Landscape Construction III, Horticulture and Nursery Management, History of Landscape Architecture, Oral Presentation, and Technical English II.
- Year 3: Includes CAD II, Landscape Design IV, and Topical Study.
Entry Requirements
- Pass SPM/SPMV with a minimum of 3 credits; OR
- Pass UEC with a minimum of 3 Bs; OR
- Pass O-Level with a minimum of 3 credits; OR
- Pass a certificate in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
- Additional Requirements:
- Pass the Drawing subject in SPM or equivalent; OR
- Pass an interview and portfolio test for students who either failed or did not take the Drawing subject during SPM or those without Art Education subjects.
