The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Visual Effects at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) equips students with skills in digital compositing, 3D modeling, and motion graphics, preparing graduates for roles such as 3D Generalist, Digital Compositor, and Visual Effects Coordinator.
Program Structure
- Year 1: Foundational topics including Cinema Film Analysis, Illustration for Concept Art, 3D Pipeline, Creative Project, and Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship.
- Year 2: Intermediate topics such as Character Creation, Animation Techniques for Games, Advanced Digital Compositing, Digital Film Production, Set Design, and Effects and Simulation.
- Internship: A 16-week industrial training to bridge academic learning with real-world experience.
- Year 3: Advanced topics including Team VFX Project: Proposal and Production, VFX Project: Proposal and Production, Research Project Report, Venture Building, Exhibition Design, and Intellectual Property Basics.
Entry Requirements
- STPM: A Pass with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects.
- A-Level: 2 Passes (Grade A-D).
- UEC: 5 Grade B’s.
- Matriculation/Foundation: A Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.
- Related Diploma: A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, or its equivalent.
- English Requirements for International Students: IELTS: 5.5; TOEFL IBT: 46; Pearson (PTE): 51; MUET: Band 4.
